For many years Stübben has been committed to the world of Icelandic horses. In collaboration with Benni’s Harmony we have developed Icelandic saddles that have found many friends among enthusiasts of Icelandic horses. Like other things, Icelandic riding has shown an enormous development and improvement. Important criteria relating to the breeding of Icelandic horses and the schooling of riders have led to changes in the structure of Icelandic saddles. All those factors have been embraced in the development of our new Icelandic saddle. Model Portos- Iceland is a saddle that combines all important considerations not only for the Icelandic horse, but also for its rider.

BIOMEX saddle seat Technology Stübben has collaborated with the BIOMEX Technology Development Centre of Klinik Gut, a Swiss Hospital for Orthopedics, Accident Care and Sports Medicine based in St. Moritz. Combined with feedback from professional riders, we have developed an innovative saddle seat which promotes correct posture, thus relieving the rider’s back from too much pressure. False posture leads to an increased axial pressure on the back and furthermore to dorsal problems. Riders complain about occasional back pain, i.e. 23.8% experience pain while riding, and 55.2% after riding. The BIOMEX Saddle Seat Technology may help prevent back pain.

Most models of Stübben saddles can be purchased in the de Luxe version. The saddles have an additional, very soft patch of leather on the flaps. This additional coverage, in addition to undoubted aesthetic values and improved comfort, also has a practical function. Thanks to the clear texture and noticeable porosity, which allows for better grip and stabilization of the rider's leg.
